The best beaches in Phuket
Phuket has around thirty beaches along its western coast. Kata Beach and Karon Beach offer an excellent balance between liveliness and tranquillity. Patong is the hub of the nightlife scene. For more peace and quiet, head to Nai Harn, Rawai or the hidden beaches in the north such as Nai Thon and Banana Beach.
Beyond the beaches
Don’t miss Phuket Old Town with its colourful Sino-Portuguese architecture, trendy cafés and markets. The Big Buddha, perched atop a hill, offers a panoramic view of the island. The Naka night market and the Old Town weekend market are perfect for sampling local cuisine.
