It is never easy to make choices and know what equipment you will need. In this video I present the gear I take with me for the round-the-world trip.

A quick review of this gear two years later

• Canon EOS 600D & 18-55mm lens: a true entry-level camera and lens. However, most of my photographs are still taken with it today. I wouldn't recommend it in 2020 - you can get much better for less.
• Canon ED STM 50mm f1.8: the lens I used for all my portraits and some product shots. Very lightweight and useful to always have in your bag.
• Canon 75-300mm: super useful during the trip. I used it a lot when I came across wildlife and for zooming into landscapes.
• Manfrotto Aviator D1: simply brilliant if you use a Phantom drone. Today I would recommend a Mavic instead, which fits in any bag.
• Forclaz 70L Backpack: very well designed, I still use it on all my trips today. No issues, whether for bivouacking or a year-long journey.
• Solar power bank: clearly useless. The solar charging never worked (or you need to leave it for literally 6 days for one charge). However, I still recommend a power bank with high capacity.
• Car cigarette lighter converter: super useful too, it allowed us to charge our phones, laptops and batteries several times during road trips. I recommend 1000W!
