Santorini is undoubtedly one of the dream destinations in the Greek islands. And what better way than a jet ski tour to make it an unforgettable adventure? I had the chance to try the jet ski safari by Wave Sport during my stay, and I want to share my best tips for making the most of it in 2026.
Along with renting a quad, jet skiing is without a doubt one of those activities you want to do again every day in the Cyclades. Especially when it lets you discover the volcanoes and the hidden beaches of a Greek island.

02Is Jet Skiing in Santorini Worth It?
Absolutely: YES. When travelling to popular tourist destinations, jet ski tour offers are commonplace. However, I must say that in Santorini, it's exceptional.
Having the opportunity to jet ski in Santorini, which is often considered among the most beautiful islands on the planet with its blue waters and marine life, is an experience not to be missed. This jet ski ride, beyond being a real adrenaline rush, allows you to discover the island from a different perspective. Plus, it lets you reach places inaccessible by car or quad.
While a jet ski excursion in Santorini is a bit pricey, it will undoubtedly leave you with one of your most memorable travel experiences. For me, it's a must-do on your trip to Santorini.
03Why Go Jet Skiing in Santorini
Jet skiing in Santorini is an unmissable experience. It's the ideal way to discover isolated coves and secret beaches, otherwise inaccessible. Jet skis allow you to ride along the island's impressive cliffs and get a sweeping view of the caldera. Nothing beats the feeling of freedom and speed in the azure waters of the Aegean Sea!
By jet ski, you can access isolated coves like Vlychada or Mesa Pigadia, and discover secluded beaches with crystal-clear waters like Red Beach or White Beach, with transparent waters perfect for snorkelling. You'll even reach areas usually reserved for boats, for a truly unique experience!
In short, jet skiing in Santorini is the ultimate activity to explore the island from a unique angle and experience thrills. In this article, I'll share my experience and tips to make the most of it.
The jet ski season in Santorini generally runs from April to October. Conditions are optimal from May to September, with calm seas and ideal temperatures.
04Wave Sport, the Best Place to Jet Ski in Santorini
After some research, I chose Wave Sport for my jet ski tour, and I absolutely don't regret my choice! This company is truly professional and offers an incredible tour.
Their guides are experienced and ensure your safety while letting you fully enjoy the experience. In 2026, they offer three jet ski safari circuits.
We did the 90-minute circuit along the southern beaches. Our guide Peter accompanied us with passion and good humour. A photographer on a zodiac captured our best moments!
In short, I recommend Wave Sport 100% for an unforgettable jet ski experience in Santorini. Their prices are fair and they provide a premium service. It's by far the best activity I did on the island!
They offer various activities like parasailing, flyboarding, etc. But we'll focus solely on the activity I was able to test: jet skiing.
Available Circuits
Wave Sport offers three jet ski safari circuits in 2026:
Beach Tour (1h): Vlychada, Akrotiri Beach, Red Beach. Perfect for a quick discovery.
Volcano Tour (2h30): Volcanoes, caldera, Aspronisi island + 30 min snorkelling. The most complete experience.

The price is per jet ski, not per person. You can ride two on a jet ski and split the cost.
Departure is from their base on Perivolos beach, in the south of Santorini. Allow about 40 minutes from Oia or 20 minutes from Fira. No problem parking your quad or car nearby.
Wave Sport operates from two bases on the famous black sand beach: Perivolos (departure point for safaris) and Perissa. Safari departures are from the Perivolos base.
To reach Perivolos easily, renting a car is the most convenient option. We recommend comparing rates on DiscoverCars to get the best deal.
As for us, we did the 90-minute tour for €350.
Note that the price is per jet ski and not per person. You can therefore share a jet ski between two and only pay half, i.e. €175 per person.
No problem switching drivers at the various stops during the excursion.
During our visit, a €40 discount was offered for cash payments at the nautical base. Check directly with Wave Sport whether this offer is still available.
Tours are done in small groups. We went in late June 2021 during peak tourist season, and there were only two jet skis for our session. Of course, an instructor accompanies you from their boat.
Other providers offer jet skiing in Santorini, including Santorini Water Sports (Agios Georgios) and Crazy Sports Santorini. We recommend Wave Sport for their 30+ years of experience, the quality of their regularly renewed fleet, and the fact that they created the jet ski safari concept on the island.

A Unique Jet Ski Experience
During our jet ski tour, we were accompanied by guide Peter. Shout out to him, he was really cool. On his boat was also a photographer who snapped away for the full 90 minutes: the photos are top quality, though a bit pricey (€25 during our visit in 2021).
Getting the hang of the jet ski is very easy: everything is well explained by the instructor. The main rule is simple: you must follow the guide's boat at all times and not stray into the sea.
The various stops follow one after another along the different beaches of Santorini. I particularly loved the water off White Beach which was exceptionally clear. We were given about 10 minutes to dive in and swim at this stop. They provide masks for those who want to go snorkelling!
The 90 minutes fly by, and it's with a heavy heart that we head back after passing the Akrotiri lighthouse.
To Wrap Up the Tour
Once back at the nautical base, it's not over yet. You can get changed and buy the photos taken by the photographer during the tour. On top of that, they gave us a free drink per person and a sunbed at the neighbouring bar. Everything is perfect to end the day.

06FAQ – Jet Skiing in Santorini
Jet skiing in Santorini is an unforgettable experience, but it can raise questions if it's your first time. Here are the answers to frequently asked questions:
No, no riding experience is required. Wave Sport's guides will give you all the instructions you need for your safety and to fully enjoy the excursion. They start with a training session on the beach, then do a warm-up lap before heading out to sea to make sure you've mastered your machine. You'll learn to accelerate, brake, turn, and even do small jumps if you wish! Their expertise means even beginners feel comfortable quickly.
The jet ski safari is accessible to passengers from age 14. Minors must be accompanied by an adult on the same jet ski. All participants are equipped with life jackets. For younger children, Wave Sport offers other activities such as tubing.
No, jumping off the jet ski is prohibited for safety reasons. However, you can stop and swim at certain points along the circuit.
You must be at least 18 years old to drive a jet ski. Wave Sport does not mention any requirement for a boating licence or driving licence: a full briefing and practice lap are included before each departure.
Excursions are cancelled in case of bad weather conditions. You will be refunded or can reschedule your booking to another date.
07What to Wear for Jet Skiing
To comfortably enjoy your jet ski tour, here's the right outfit:
Swimsuit or board shorts for men. Opt for close-fitting clothes that won't restrict your movements. Bikinis are not recommended for women, as they can come undone with the spray.
Sunglasses with a strap. They'll protect you from splashes while letting you admire the scenery. Choose a wraparound style so they don't fly off!
Waterproof sunscreen. Apply generously—the sun's reflection on the water is intense. Choose a waterproof sunscreen that will withstand the water.
Cap or hat, to protect yourself from sunburn on your face and neck.
Non-slip sandals, to avoid slipping on the boat deck.
Avoid jewellery and accessories that could be lost in the water. Wetsuits are provided by Wave Sport if needed. They'll protect you from spray and splashes.
08In Conclusion
I 100% recommend jet skiing on your next trip to Santorini. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but it's an activity you won't regret. Between the thrills, the stunning landscapes, and the water in a thousand shades of blue, it's a truly unique experience.
We absolutely loved doing it with Wave Sport, and it's with great pleasure that we'll be going back on our next trip to Santorini.
