All of them are less than an hour's drive from Rethymno. From peaceful coves ringed by cliffs to stretches of fine sand lapped by crystal-clear waters, these hidden gems are the very embodiment of Mediterranean paradise.

Bali Beach is located about 30 km east of Rethymno, near the village of Bali. To reach this magnificent destination, simply follow the national road towards Heraklion. Until you see signs directing you to turn off for the village of Bali. From there, it's only a short drive to the beach itself.
The estimated driving time from Rethymno to Bali Beach is about 40 minutes. This pleasant journey takes you along Crete's stunning coastline. Offering panoramic views that will make your heart soar. Be warned, though: finding a parking space there can be a real hassle.
Plakias Beach

Meanwhile, the charming tavernas nearby serve delicious local cuisine to satisfy your appetite after a day on the beach.

Plakias Beach is located about 40 km south of Rethymno, near the village of Plakias. To get there, head towards Spili on the main road out of Rethymno then follow the signs for Plakias. The drive takes you through mountain landscapes and picturesque villages. Which offer a glimpse of authentic Cretan life.
